GoLite has an interesting article at http://www.golite.com/howto/backpackingdetail.aspx?d=195 about how 'Lighter is Not Always Better'. They make several good points and thought you guys would be interested. Check it out.

Good article! I'd recomend it to all those people who are starting to go light. I'm not 'ultralight' yet, but still stuck at 'lightweight'
