Fishing?

PostPosted by greenhiker on Fri Apr 11, 2008 7:37 pm

I love to go fishing while backpacking? Anyone share my love? It is great to just sit on a log next to a lake and catch some fish for dinner! Really observe and think about everything around you (hopefully nothing but trees, rocks, and dirt). Sometimes you just get in a mood where you just stare at the ground for miles as you hike.

Honestly, I've only caught 3 fish in my life. I can't stand to just sit there waiting for something that might not even come. Sorry, I don't have enough patience!

Colton, you don't just focus on catching the fish, you think about space and the concept of infinity. Although, I'm not much of a fisherman either, I've caught a lot more than 3 fish in my lifetime! Anyone got some favorite fishing spots?

I live in Wyoming, but I visit the Uinta Mountains in Utah quite a bit. There are some beautiful lakes up there that I love to do fishing at. Jordan Lake is one of the places that I love. I'll just backpack in there for a few days and camp right in the trees next to the lake and fish all day. It is so serene there I love it.
