Balance Bare energy bar

PostPosted by bpm on Sun Jul 27, 2008 11:18 pm

I bought some of the Balance Bare Sweet & Salty Peanut Butter energy bars from a hiking store awhile ago and haven't used them until now. They taste pretty good! I've eaten the Clif bars and I hate them, but I've heard they give you tons of energy, but The Balance Bares taste great so it seems like it wouldn't give as much energy or wouldn't be as healthy or something. it seems like I get an energy boost from them. Does anyone know if they really give you energy or how healthy they are? Thanks.

I couldn't comment on the health part of balance bars, but I don't care for the Clif bars either. What does the back of the Balance bars say? What are the ingredients?

Balance Bares are one of the best energy bars as far as how much nutrition and energy they give you. The taste isn't all that amazing (I've only tried one of the several flavors), but it really does give you a 'kick.' This bar has 100% of your daily vitamins C and E, as well as a bunch of protein and other important nutrients. If you want more info on it you can just check out their site, http://www.balance.com/bare/balance-bare.aspx. You could have just googled it first before asking the question I guess.

Oh okay awesome. Ya I guess I could have done some research before I asked that question. Thanks though for the help. Didn't know it was that healthy for you! The price isn't the greatest, but if it tastes as good as it does and it's that healthy, maybe I'll buy a bunch more!

I make my own bars sometimes, just oats, raisins and fruits, mix it with honey and sugar and other stuff and bake it in a sheet in the oven. Cut into bars.

The Backpacking Recipes blog has a new post testing the different energy bars! The Balance and Clif bars are compared so check it out! It's pretty good information, giving you a short description, and the basic information like cost, size, calories, and website.

Oh wow great post! Nice to have the basic specs and prices is one place. I haven't tried about half of those, but from those I have tried, Detour Runner, ProBar, and the Clif bars, I like the Balance Sweet & Salty Peanut Butter the best. Tasts good and has plenty of nutrients and calories. Not that bad of a price tag either!
