Dehydrating bananas

Are dehydrated bananas supposed to be mushy, or am I just not drying them long enough? And is there a technique people use for not eating them all while they're drying? :D

You might be cutting them too thick or not going long enough. I usually slice them about 1/4 inch thick and leave them in for 14ish hours. We dry them until they're good and hard. I've heard of people in humid places use a fan to blow out any extra unwanted humidity in the room. Don't know how to help you with your snacking problem though, sorry!

Okay thanks! I'll try that. I'll try working on the snacking problem... :)

I love dehydrated banana slices! I've never tried making my own though. Maybe I'll give that a go and see how it works out. Is there a certain time to dehydrate the bananas, preripe, when they are ripe, or a little brown?
Thanks.
